Initially focused mainly on accounting systems and computer networks, the company focus soon shifted to telephone systems and computer network integration. Beginning in year two, the current name, "LeBlanc Communications Group, Inc." was chosen and the firm hired its first employee. LeBlanc Communications has since installed and serviced more than 150 phone systems, with over eighty of them advanced IP-Telephony solutions from 3Com. A significant number of LeBlanc's customers are multi-location companies, and many of the customers rely on LeBlanc for both computer and telephone system support. LeBlanc Communications had steadily increased its customer and revenue base, evidenced by the company being awarded the Deloitte and Touche Technology Fast50 Award for four consecutive years (1999 - 2002). The early days of the company saw a heavy focus on network integration and support, driving perhaps 70% of the business. Today, the company's revenue is about 70% from advanced telephone systems or related consulting and support, while the remainder is from network integration, security management, customer technical support, custom application development and other computer-related disciplines. A year after founding the company, the LeBlanc leased office space on East Avenue in Norwalk. The number of customers grew steadily in the first few years, as did the number of employees. By 1997, the staff had grown to three, large enough to require a move to 50 Washington Street. However, only 12 months later, and a doubling of the staff again, required yet another move. Norwalk was again the choice, and the company moved to High Street in an old, 19th century leather factory with 11 ft high ceilings, exposed bricks and beams and a view of the Norwalk Harbor. This location was ideal for the growth of the company and after three years the staff again doubled to almost a dozen employees. With the slowdown in the economy, particularly in the Telecommunication sector, for the first time in the company's history, in late 2001, there was more pressure to remain profitable. To stay competitive, the company reduced its headcount somewhat and moved in to its current space in a Trumbull Connecticut office park. This more North-easterly Connecticut location has made it easier for LeBlanc's staff to more quickly reach all of the company's statewide customers.
